This banner is telling me I should introduce myself.

Per the title, my name is Miso (also Alex, for those that prefer real names. I have no preference). As of late, I've fallen out of love with gaming communities, at large, as well as the corresponding games. I used to have a great deal of time invested in my games and I enjoyed every lifeless second of it.

Thing is, with adulthood winding its hand back, telegraphing the impending impact upside my head, I haven't the energy or motivation for gaming, usually.
Honestly, I was mostly looking for a not-reddit means to join a community of gamers, and hopefully find a way to get back into some of the games I enjoyed so much. Lo and behold, I found this site... group thing advertised on Reddit (several SEVERAL times). So, this kind of worked out, as this place fell into my lap.

In this instance, my interests lie mostly in re-joining Final Fantasy XIV, with the introduction of Stormblood impending. It is my most recent love and I used to be on-par with the end-game raiders, in my old free company. So far, I've been out of the game and have no way of really playing with them, as they generally aren't on, when I'm on, or they want to do higher level stuff than I can.


At any rate, my pity party and begging aside, I have a pretty long history of gaming, starting back on Atari, through the NES and SNES generation of consoles (not to mention Sega, back when they actually... did consoles), and even more current. At some point, I did branch off into online gaming (favoring MMORPGs), starting off in Ultima and hopping in and out of MMOs ever since. I used to prefer taking part in early betas and late alpha access games, where I was one of a small minority. What can I say, it made me feel special and I was usually well acquainted with the top players.

As of more current, my games consist of Dark Souls 3, Mass Effect Andromeda, the occasional Nier Automata, and Final Fantasy XV. I'd add in that I play League of Legends, but I hardly consider that a game, as I can shut my brain off and treat it like a habit or a fidget (not to mention the pure cancer that comes with that game), and (as I mentioned before) FFXIV, however I haven't played for a minute.

So far, my FAVORITE games are Dark Souls (the first, though the third is up there), Legend of the Dragoon, Borderlands (the first one), Shining Force, and Final Fantasy VI.


Anyways, hopefully I'll be able to become rooted into this community and enjoy it enough to get that spark back. Thank you, very much, and hello.
