So I've been reading into this system all day today and looking at the forums etc about this topic. Take a look at this new Clan system and tell me your thoughts on it. I honestly think it has potential if it is handled correctly, I can go more in depth but I'd like to see what other people interested in this game have to say. http://sf.my.com/us/news/announcements/welcome-pantheon
Most of it seems good. Only thing i don't like is the inner clan system simply because it gives those guild leaders that like to fuck off for a few months, or permanently, more excuses not to pass on leadership, they will still be noted as gone and it will still look bad. I do like the 50/50 split on the pvp/pve war though, that could be a lot of fun. It all seems pretty well thought out, def better than the usual style of cram everyone in and give a few people titles crap every mmo spits out.
I thought about that for a bit as well but so long as the primary Pantheon leader isn't the one disappearing it shouldn't cause too much of an uproar. I say that simply because unlike many other guild systems you have to fit that one specific playstyle (PvP or PvE) and be on specific servers etc. There are many points at which segregation occur and cause one guild to become split into many directions. Now you can have a community system in essence that allows two guild of PvE and two of PvP (or one of each depending on our total size of active members). So now if one of the branch guilds loses a leader there is potentially 1 to 2 leaders available to help out for a time begin that have already been leading, know how to lead and are recognized as leaders from day one. I think in the past part of the issue was we were placing people who either didn't really know how to lead or weren't originally seen as leaders into the position and then they either did nothing because they just wanted the title or couldn't do anything because they hadn't garnered that respect to be followed. But we will also need to work on rules and regulations about guild duties and such as more time goes on to prevent against things we've also experienced in the past like elitest attitudes, people who want to be carried and don't contribute, creating more guild game events to promote activity and community etc. If this game is going to work it will take a ton of communication plus rules and guidelines being set that ALL GUILD MEMBERS INCLUDING THE GM WILL ADHERE TO AND COMMUNITY VOTES WILL BE UPHELD REGARDLESS OF PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
Oh i wasn't specifically meaning any guild or leader in particular, i can't remember a guild in a game in five or so years where it hasn't been an issue for most guilds that plan a presence, three guilds i was in in GW2 had that issue, despite them all having long serving officers that could have taken the top spot with ease, instead they imploded from all the "man the guy in charge hasn't logged in two months". The system itself has good and bad points in that regard, i would guess the good points could potentially negate the bad ones, like not needing to split or make a decision pvp vs pve. As far as guild systems go it is possibly the best thought out one created, since it gives reason to be in a guild and takes away the need to shop around for one that perfectly fits what you want, since the only real way to have exactly what you want is to make your own.
My thoughts on this were, I would Create Two Accounts. 1 Account, to be the Parthenon Leader, and My Main to be in charge of one of the Clans. This way any of the Community Leaders, Can log into that Account at anytime to change or set up a War or something at all times.
I would personally find people who have a long term interest and plan to stick with it longer than until the next halfway interesting looking game comes out, having people run something that have little interest in staying long term will just stop playing when any reason to do so presents itself, hardly conducive to longevity, a free for all account helps with any/all officers being able to start something, doesn't help if half those officers don't play any more lol. /personal opinion. That all being said i been reading up a lot on all this game has to offer and it does seem like something new in more than just guild setup regards, hope it lives up to the hype since i applied for keys on 17 accounts XD
I agree if anyone is going to run or even be a leader of ANY chapter it cannot continue with the spree of let us play the game for a month and rush to the max, then disappear from sight right after. Those in charge will have to be ones who wish to invest much time in the game and are willing to stick around because this truly will be a "grindy" game. Many aspects including the leveling system require much time to spent as it is more of a prestige system than a class level up system.
True, But we need to find and Recruit New Officers and Possible new Council Members who are looking to play a Game Long term and stick with it like Drakoz Did.
