Hey Guys, Just wanted to have a brief conversation about the ever changing requirements for the main guild. Initially the big hubbub was that everyone needed to be level 50 and be able to maintain 3000 contribution a week. Now the target has been changed with the level minimum raised to 51 and a minimum gear score requirement. I'm sorry but Black Desert Online is not a job and it would be nice if leadership stopped treating it like one. I get that we want to do the PvP and be competitive. I do too! But this is a game and it's ridiculous to set requirements that require treating the game like a job to achieve. I love to play this game but once again I did not play the beta and I am still learning the game as I go. I do not have time to take a masters course in "how to play black desert" while I am at work and I have other obligations. Ultimately the only reason I am not higher level or better geared is because I am still figuring things out and largely end up playing solo. That makes the time I play less productive than for folks who were already BDO blackbelts and have been grouping up in dedicated groups. In the long run I'll get the levels and the gear but I can't do it like a job. That's just not fun. I'm sure the answer is to just leave the guild. But I am hoping that isn't the only answer. JDogg
I hear what you're saying, but we have to cater to the wants of the guild as a whole. We started the sister guild as an effort to let people play however they wanted, and if the time came that they wanted to get really into PvP they could switch over freely. Both guilds are still hanging out together, playing other games together, etc. In order to be competitive in seige, we simply have to have some minimum requirements. The requirements we post are far less than more "hardcore" guilds, and are really not that difficult to achieve. You are not expected to hit 200 tomorrow (there is no deadline), we are all working together to get up to that point.
the Level is 51 with Gear Score of 200 for players joining the Guild. This should also be the Goal of everyone. If you want to do the things we are looking to do, then you should be pushing to 51 and gear score of 200. Both are easy enough with a 1 hour sasuge grind, and scrolls groups getting most your gear to +10. It's a pretty low goal post for anyone playing small amount of hours. If I said get 250 gear score and 53 would be a job for most.
JDogg I wish to add a few things. I recognize I am no longer an officer but I feel I still have a lot of knowledge and things to offer. I 1000000% understand your gripes and fears. I completely do. But I want to try and build an image that everyone can understand. I'll use current in game and KR examples from a few different guild perspectives. Then I'll talk about real-time plausibility. Levels. I understand how you say not a job. To explain my life. I work about 56 hours a week AND study occasionally here and there. I maintain a long-distance relationship. The only times I usually can play is late at night. While I'll admit I do consider myself relatively adept at black desert, I progressed from 51-52 in about 4 hours. I went from 1-50 in less than a week. My crafting is fairly low. As is my gearscore at around 230. However the majority of this game is focused around group content. In a guild like ours. Communication is key. We can't help you if we don't know you need help. Next time your in the Teamspeak and you see me, hit me up. I'll personally take you grinding. A 5 man group at sausan can go 50-51 in a couple hours and 50-52 in a few more. You do not have to rock solo and if that is the case I want you to let an officer know that you feel as if your being ignored because that's not the type of community we are fostering. This PvP system works only as good as our community. If we don't have coordination then we won't perform. Gearscore - this is the tricky part, a lot of the people with 280+ gearscore were the people who hit 50 within 2 days of early access. They then spent 3 weeks farming gear (witches, tree belt, ogre) some of us who didn't rush 50 are well behind that curve but that doesn't make it impossible. Once again communication is key. We have a forum for a reason. Organize a gear farm group. I'll get with you later to explain how to maximize this. Also fish in a hotspot. You'll get lots of Relics. Those Scrolls are crucial. You can afk this. Just get a fishing boat. I'm at work but get with me tonight. I want to help you. You have more than adequate play time
Jdogg, hit me up and I will group with you. I am on most nights after 7 pm est except Wednesday and Saturday.
You see. This is what happens when you focus on building a community first like Daphonic has done. I honestly think that if we put our minds to it and REALLY tried us as a guild could push 250 with say 80% hitting target. We have a LOT of solid, dedicated VERY helpful players. The BIGGEST thing about this game is the ability to NOT get frustrated, tilted, upset or discouraged. This is still a Korean MMO and it is VERY grind heavy and it has a very heavy emphasis on turf wars and then of course the actual Node Wars GvG. If you play 5+ times a week with about 4+ hours a day. you are easily in the Top 10% in terms of actually game time. only like 2 or 3% of the population actually no-life this game. The gear difference you see is because a lot of the top players (by gear and level, not skill) were able to get ahead of the curve and farm for 2 days straight during Conq early access and as such have had the past month to casually farm gear. There are people who have been 50 since day 2 and are JUST getting 55 (though they have +15 gear) and we have people with half the game time now getting 55. It is VERY easily possible. Just stick with it and try your best to make an educated judgement. Just keep in mind, this is a GROUP game. My offer still stands. hit me up in game. me and syxe will pull you into our groups.
So far this week I've been on to do several of the big guild kill quests and did the boss fight a couple of nights ago. I just got home for work tonight (It's 9pm) and I might pop in to get the loyalty thing but otherwise will not likely play much tonight. Tomorrow night I'll be on. Saturday morning and evening most likely. And I'll certainly be on more on Sunday. Basically the weekends are the main times I have to play given my work schedule. I live in the east coast time zone and work 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. I will just say this though.. if you are playing 4+ hours on 5+ nights a week, that is 2nd job territory, not a game. I am not signed up for a 2nd job. I am fine with a game the requires a grind to make progress. But I cannot put 20+ hours a week into it.
